Installation of connectors without experience and proper equipment will lead to improperly terminated connectors.

This connector is RP-TNC jack for RG8 and 400-Series type cables. Connectors can be a bit confusing regarding the gender. There are Reverse Polarity (RP) TNC and regular TNC connectors. RP-TNC is common with many wireless products. The RP-TNC jack is a female connector. It has threads on the outside and the pin protrudes from inside the connector. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the male, however it is without doubt the female. We generally prefer the term, jack, in order to avoid this confusion.
