Looking to install a wireless internet system in your office? Or are you just looking to update your old wired internet system in your business office? No matter what your reason is for wanting to install a wireless access point in your office, with the help of AIR802’s quality equipment, it can be a simple task for you to accomplish.
There are three important pieces of equipment that you will need to install a wireless access point in your office. Here is a quick rundown of what you are going to need:
Power-over-Ethernet (POE): No matter where you decide to install your access point, it needs to have a power source for it to work. POE allows you to install the access point away from an outlet and in a more convenient location out of the way of things such as in the ceiling.
24 port managed gigabit switch: A 24 port managed gigabit switch is perfect for the office because it has 24 separate ports for 24 separate computers or other devices. Having a designated port for each device allows for a speedy transfer of data between devices. The ability to share data in a fast and reliable way is key for any office building.
802.11N antenna: Once you have decided on a location for your wireless access point you are going to need an appropriate quality antenna to radiate the internet signal wireless to all the devices in your office. The 802.11N antenna, which depending on your access point, will either be operating in the 2.4 GHz band, 5.1 to 5.8 GHz band or both bands. If using both bands you may need to choose a dual-band antenna. If the antenna is not directly attached to the access point, then you will to purchase a wifi antenna cable to extend between the access point and antenna. If the distance is further than 10 to 15 feet, choose AIR802 CA400 or CA600 type antenna cable to minimize any signal loss.
